About Me

I was born and raised in Hilo, Hawaii. In 1973, I met and studied under Koichi Sensei and this began my interest in Bodywork. Tohei Sensei taught me the art of "Kiatsu", Aikidos' version of Shiatsu. Life went on in Hilo and I became a DJ, working at stations KBIG and KWXX. In the late 80's, I moved to Honolulu and worked at KQMQ as "Jon Kealoha" and then KSSK during the 90's. At KSSK I hosted a show called "Night Magick" about the unknown, local ghost stories and psychic readings. Working at these top radio stations in Honolulu was great and the guests on my show sparked my interest again in doing healing work through Shiatsu. By chance, I met Mark Kauwe (Shiastu by Mark) and while working with him, I learned his style of Shiatsu. Through his guidance, I earned my massage license.
The Shiatsu Guy believes in the Kai zen philosophy which is often translated as ongoing, ‘continuous improvement’.

Shiatsu is my passion and I will continue to study and strive to master my practice.
My Treatments
Awaken your Ki (Qi), your body’s own healing power, by using Advanced Korean Hand Therapy to alleviate pain and stress quickly and naturally without the use of pharmaceuticals and without any side effects. Coupled with shiatsu therapy, you can regain balance in your body and lead a more fulfilling lifestyle.
What is Korean Hand Therapy (KHT)?
KHT focuses on micro-systems of the whole body or specific parts of the affected areas of interest through the hands. Similarly, foot reflexology is when the whole body is projected on the feet. Korean Hand Therapy also projects the entire Chinese meridian system on the hand. This adds another dimension to awaken your own healing response systems.
What makes KHT an important treatment option is its direct connection to the brain. Interestingly, there is a high number of neurological concentration links between the hand and the brain. This is called "Brain Mapping." About 80% of your brain is directly connected to the hands. As a result, stimulating the points on the hand has a direct effect on the brain, which in turn, has a relevant effect on the body.
KHT is a non-invasive approach without the use of needles like acupuncture. Instead, metal pellets are used with needle-like accuracy. This pellet method has been proven to be as effective as needles.

Advanced KHT and Shiatsu Therapy
If you have ongoing lower back or sciatica issues or any type of leg or arm pain, TMJ, headaches, acid reflux, constipation or diarrhea - either acute or chronic - there are now alternative treatment methods that focus of your body's Micro systems. These include Korean Hand Therapy and Shiatsu, which help relieve your symptoms and enable you to regain your balance again. Both therapies work to address disruptions in blood flow and circulation while maximizing the flow of Ki, which in turn restores your body to its natural, healthy state.

It was the day of my departure for vacation when I pulled my back muscle and was in severe pain. My first thought was to reach out to Jonathan to see if he could squeeze me to provide me with some relief. He was able to squeeze me in and treated me immediately with the Korean magnets which have worked for me in the past with a more severe muscle pull in the same area. He assessed me and strategically placed the tiny magnets on and around my hands to treat my back muscle. I felt immediate relief and could sit and stand with less discomfort than when I arrived. His treatment enabled me to tolerate the pain during my 5-hour flight. Thank you so much, Jonathan!
